What's the difference between an unsecured loan and a guarantor loan?

I took out a guarantor loan with flmloans.co.uk last year and basically it is a form of unsecured loan. My best friend was my guarantor so I guess that makes him the security.

All in all it was a great service, I paid it off early with no extra charge which amazed me for a company operating in this space!
